Salary $33 - $47 per hour

Be part of a unit that values teamwork, growth, and patient-centered care in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. We are a 28-bed Acute Care Medicine unit dedicated to facilitating efficient patient flow from the Emergency Department. Our patients are admitted with a wide range of medical conditions, including TIA, falls, syncope, cellulitis, anemia, and flu, and are generally discharged within 24 to 72 hours. Our healthcare team collaborates closely with the UNC REX Hospitalist group to provide holistic, compassionate, and patient-centered care. We prioritize a positive and inclusive work culture, focusing on professional growth and strong team dynamics.

Job Details

  • Deliver patient-centered nursing care, coordinating with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments to develop and adjust individualized care plans.
  • Monitor patient conditions, providing timely interventions and bedside testing.
  • Educate patients and families, assessing readiness to learn and addressing unique needs.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate effective discharge planning.
  • Participate in unit performance improvement and contribute to achieving team goals.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and supportive environment that promotes healing.

Skills You Need

  • Active RN licensure in North Carolina and BLS certification.
  • At least one year of nursing experience.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Willingness to pursue further education to obtain a BSN or MSN, if not already held.
