Summary
JOB DESCRIPTION
Provides patient care duties for patients of all ages, infants through adults under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Serves as a scrub technologist as well as a Nursing Assistant. Provides care preoperatively, perioperatively, and postoperatively within scope of practice and hospital policy and procedures. Also functions as a surgical assistant and/or assistant to the circulating nurse. Performs a variety of organizational, administrative, and communication functions.
Education
Required -
Graduate of accredited program of Surgical Technology or competency demonstrated by experience andtraining Certification in Surgical Technology. Knowledge of medical terminology. Formal training in basic computer applications. Data entry proficiency.
Required Work Experience
No previous experience required. Given training and on-the-job experience incumbent should be proficient in basic aspects of the job within three months of employment date.

Education
Required -
- High School diploma or equivalent.
 - BCLS certification. If the BLS is not from the American Heart Association (AHA), then AHA certification is due within three months of employment date.
 -  Either NA1 or NA2 (if NA2 must maintain valid NA1 listing) Nurse Aide I : Listed with the Nurse Aide Registry at the NC Division of Facility Services. Nurse Aide II : Listed with the Nurse Aide Registry at the NC Division of Facility Services and the NC Board of Nursing.
