This program is designed to provide continuing professional development in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with orthopedic conditions by primary care providers, nurses and rehabilitation professionals. Attendees will improve their knowledge and competence of surgical treatment options and rehabilitation techniques for meniscus tears, the future of outpatient joint replacement, and gain new perspectives about rotator cuff tears and treatments. Attendees will also be updated on the use of orthobiologics, as well as updates on neuro-modulation and innovations in finger joint replacement. Course attendees will also be informed of the latest surgical techniques for the humerus bone and how that impacts patient care outcomes.
Objectives
- Develop improved competence in surgical and rehabilitation techniques of total knee arthroplasty, ACL reconstruction, tibial lengthening, and anterior total hip replacements.
- Gain an improved understanding of current treatments and related outcomes of common foot and ankle injuries, sports medicine injuries in young athletes, shoulder instabilities and rotator cuff management.
- Examine characteristics of burnout and identify research-based interventions to implement to reduce burnout moving forward.
- Analyze the ways chronic pain treatments have changed over the past several years, and define treatment options that are available now and on the horizon in the clinic setting.
